My take on the Chinese cleaver.

True to the Chinese cleaver concept, I wanted a robust workhorse. But the goal was always something more than just utility. I wanted a conversation piece...functional art- something to show off.

Its size and weight mean it feels as badass in the hand as it looks. The handle is machined from a single piece of brass. Damasteel and timascus caps embellish and seal the end of the 135mm brass handle. The blade is 170x100mm tall. Swedish stainless 14c28n @59.5HRC (tested). The spine is 3.2mm thick and the primary bevel is 65mm tall.Blasted and tumbled finish. I've kept the blade thicker behind the edge to ensure it can stand up to robust use and be a real workhorse in the kitchen. CNC machined food release geometry combined with the weight makes cutting effortless... it glides through food like it’s not there.
